Hey everybody! And Happy Mother´s day to all the mothers, especially my mom, Yesterday!
This past week was a very rough week. We didn´t have very many appointments with investigators, because we don´t have many investigators... and when we went to their houses to teach them, they weren´t there or they didn´t have time to talk with us. That happened for most of the week with our investigators. So the progress with them is quite slow at the moment.
I am pretty sure the temperature can effect the people to some degree... it is getting a lot colder here now, and the people are acting a lot colder to us now too. This past week we tried so hard to find new people to teach. And unfortunately we were outside for most of the day everyday because no one wanted to talk with us... or they just wanted to argue with us, and that isn´t going to solve anything at all. When you are contacting for hours and hours and for days and days, you have a lot of time to think about things and a lot of time to talk to your companion. How blessed we are in this life with all the things that we have, especially our families, friends, and the gospel.
Sometimes strange things happen to you as a missionary, very strange things... For example, we were waiting to cross a street and someone ran across the street really fast with a bunch of bags in his hands and when crossing the street he dropped a book and he didnt know... so when we crossed the street we picked up the book to return it to him. I read the spine of the book when I picked it up, and it was a Satanic book... O.o Of all the people in the world to pick up a book to return it to someone, it just happened to be some missionaries and it just happened to be a Satanic book. Strange if you ask me! Well, we returned it to the person and he told us that he doesnt believe in God and that he worships Satan and such... but he was happy to get his book back and he said in the end that maybe all religious people arent so bad. It was an interesting experience, and sometimes I wonder if it is real or not... but things happen!
Yesterday was fantastic rest for a little bit... I was able to talk with my Family and Caralyn! They were all together and we laughed and talked and had a great time! I was able to talk to my Mom and wish her a Happy Mother´s Day! Thanks for being the most amazing Mom in the world! I am so priveleged to have such a great Mom! I hope you had a great Mother´s Day! I was also able to say a late Happy Birthday to my Dad, he turned 46 on the 12th. Thanks for being the most amazing Dad in the world too! And I was able to talk two of my three amazing sisters, Keeley and Karley. And of course it was a pleasure to be able to talk to my adorable love Caralyn! Thank you all for being so amazing! My family and Caralyn all said that I have an accent now... I dont believe them... but oh well! That just makes me a little more Chilean! Well, it was great to talk to them all, although sometimes I started talking a little spanglish... This next Christmas I´m not sure if I will be able to speak English at all! Well, we will just have to wait and see! I love you all so much! I love you so much too Caralyn! Wish me luck in the cold and with really cold people too! We are trying our best to light a fire in this ward and with the people here! Keep us in your prayers! I hope you are all well and you are always in my prayers too! Take care! Until next week!
