Hey Everyone!
Woah! Another week down, woot! What a week it´s been! We´ve found some great new people contacting this week, and it´s been a week of learning new lessons for sure!
My comp. decided to bible bash earlier this week... and I learned some great lessons from that. It´s okay to defend our religion, but never okay to be on the offense. The second you do that, the spirit won´t be there. Also, as a representative of Jesus Christ, I have to be an example in everyway I can be. Christ never attacked anyone, if anything he was the perfect example for everyone around him, and if needed, he took the beating. So bible bashing is never good, but what is good is that you should always listen with love to whoever is talking and follow the promptings of the Spirit... because this is the Lord´s work, and through the spirit he can convert, not us as missionaries! We are just here to help and invite people!
Our golden family that we have, Maria Luisa and Felix, are doing great! We had a family home evening with them this week, and made Mexican Tacos! Yum! Hopefully we´ll be able to solve the little concerns they have before thier baptizm for the 17th this month! Hopefully it will be a white christmas here! Haha!
Also, a drunk guy that we found in the street last month is actually starting to change a little more everytime we find him. I doubted that he really had interest in the church, but I guess I should just eat my foot now! This gospel is for everyone, It doesn´t matter the circumstance! I think he´ll be a very strong member one day! We´ll continue to teach him and help him out in anyway we can!
The Chilean culture never ceases to amaze me. It´s really hard to teach sometimes, because the majority of Chileans never want to stop talking. But this is where patience comes in! I´m glad that I have a lot of patience! But more than anything this week, I´ve been learning how to listen to the spirit more closely, and to follow the promptings I recieve from the Spirit. We´ve had some great experiences this week, all because of the Spirit leading us. This really is the Lord´s work, and without the spirit, nothing much is going to happen.
It´s almost Christmas! I´m glad to hear that Southern Utah got some snow! How fun! It´s been crazy weather here, super hot, super cold and rainy, but always windy! It´s fun though! You have to be prepared for whatever Chile throws at you!
I love and miss you all, and I hope you are all doing well. I miss you too Caralyn, I always will, you are my greatest strength while I´m out here! I hope you´re proud of me! We´ll always be okay! Through Thick and Thin Forever, just like we have always said! Take care always, all of you! Stay out of trouble everyone!

Hey everyone!
Another week passed already? I never think that the week is going to end, and then suddenly it´s Sunday! Woah! But of course today is Monday! How was everyones Thanksgiving? I hope it went well for everyone! Thanksgiving was great here, but it was just working working, and more working! ^_^ But that´s a good thing for a missionary! This week contacting was really slow... especially yesterday. For the first 3 hours of contacting, we only contacted 13 people!!!! No one was in the street and nobody was at home.... or they just didn´t want to answer the door. But we pushed on and made sure to work as hard as we can... like always!
This week we´ve found some really good people and shared plently of spiritual thoughts and first lessons with people we´ve found. It´s so amazing to see the spirit working in people. There have been some people this week that don´t want to talk to us and definitely don´t want to hear our message... but after a minute or two they change their mind! I know it´s because they feel something!
So, I don´t get why people drink.... it smells so gross and it makes people act really strange! We find numerous drunk people everyday and WOW! They always love to talk. Sometimes it´s extremely hard not to laugh at what they say... and other times I have no idea what they are saying. But they always like to talk, no matter if I can understand them or not.
It´s always windy where I am, and in the mornings it´s still pretty cold here. But it´s nice! I hear the weather is cooling down quite a bit in Southern Utah! You´ll have to let me know if it snows anytime! I hope all is well at home, things are great here for me!
Yesterday in Church was our ward´s Primary Program. It was so amazing, I cried! Those little kids have a special spirit about them. I felt amazing yesterday after church. And I was so excited because we were going to have lunch at the Bishop´s house... but he was out of town. His wife always cooks amazing food... I was so excited, but since he was out of town, we couldn´t have lunch there obvoiusly, so we went home to make some food. Well, we ran out of Propane a few days ago, so we didn´t have a stove or anything... and I was starving. So I had the idea to try to make eggs in a grilled cheese sandwich maker!! It turned out great! I think another name for missionary is "Improviser". Haha!
Aside from that, this week was just a lot of working! It´s a good work. We have an amazing family we are still teaching, and tonight we are going to have a family home evening with them and make tacos! The whole family has interest, but only the parents have a baptizmal date. But we are hoping that we can get the kids to church! They are 20, 21, and 22 years old, so it´s going to take some work!
I love you all so much and thank you for all the love and support always! I hope all is well at home! I love you too always Caralyn! I can´t believe it´s almost Diciembre! errr... December! I´m excited for the holiday´s, but it´s going to be weird that it will be hot here and feel like summer time! Who knows... maybe a freak snow storm? I can only hope! Take care everyone!

Hello everyone! Another week has passed, but this last week was the end of my first Cambio.... err, transfer! Haha! A whole 6 weeks in Chile... it doesn´t feel like I´ve been here that long at all. I´ve learned so much while I´ve been here, and I´m glad that I have a lot more to learn! It will definitely be a process, but I can do it! So with the end of one cambio, there are changes in where missionaries serve and changes with who you serve with... but since I´m still a newbie and getting trained for 12 weeks, I´ll be with Elder Lusk for another cambio in the same ward! Yes mom, I´m in a ward, not a branch. There are a lot of members and a lot of youth too. Like with any place, there are some really nice youth, and some that are a little annoying, but all is well here.
Speaking of the youth, this week the youth in this stake had a "mini mission" and for two days missionaries had an intercambio with the little missionaries. My companion had a little missionary, but I didn´t, so I was a companion with Elder Walker for 2 days. It was really fun. Elder Walker came to Chile at the same time as me, so it was fun for two greenies to go out and preach the gospel! We actually set a baptizmal date with one of my investigators, but she didn´t go to church, so now the date fell. Sad day! And I was so certain she was going to come to church because she was so excited about it! I don´t know why she didn´t come. This week we also played some soccer with one of our investigators who plays on a college soccer team here in Chile. He was pretty good!
The work is going well here, and with a new cambio, my companion and I really want to work hard to set this ward on fire before this next cambio is over. We are focused and working as much as we can every day to find new people to teach. We do a lot of street contacting and knocking doors to try to find new people, and we try to ask for refferals from everyone we meet. Sometimes the referals are really good... and other times non existant or some crazy drunk person. The drunks here are hilarious, and there are a lot of them. Yesterday we entered a house of a referal... he was a drunk and could barely walk. He wanted us to sit down and drink and smoke with him, but when we tried to leave he started to cry... we left anyways, in a very polite fashion though.
Aside from that, we are just working hard and trying to find new people to teach. I hope all is well in the States. My spanish is coming along a little more every day, and I´m so thankful for the power of prayer in my life, especially as a missionary! Pray is super powerful! I wish you all a happy thanksgiving here! There is kinda a thanksgiving here... it´s called "El Dia de Acion de gracias" I hope you all are well! I love you all! I love you too Caralyn!

Hello everyone!
Another week has passed, and wow does P day seem to sneak up! Every day does because the days never feel like they are going to end, and then BAM! The day is over and it all starts over again! That´s just the life of the mission I suppose.
So how is everything at home? I hope all is well with everyone! Things have been great here in Chile. I definitely miss gallons of milk and inexpensive cereal! Haha!
This past week we didn´t find too many people, but we tried doing a lot of contacting with little luck! We have some really great investigators though. The family of Maria Luisa and Felix. They have 3 sons, ages 20, 21, and 22. They are so receptive to the message and the parents have been coming to church the past two weeks. The kids really want to but they have had work the past few weeks on sunday so far, so hopefully soon! I always leave thier house with a big smile on my face because I feel the spirit so strong during our lessons! It´s been a pretty great week overall.
On Wednesday Elder Cook from the Quorum of the 12 visited our stake here in Chile! It was awesome! He talked about the importance of Family Home Evening and preparing to enter the temple! Make sure you are all having your family home evenings! I´m guessing they are rather important! Also, as missionaries we had the opportunity to listen to the second counsoler in the presiding bishopric of the general authorities. He bore a strong testimony and pumped us all up for the mission some more!
Every day it is still rather weird to see fences around everything, I don´t think there will be a day that this isn´t weird to me. Oh well, that will be my life for awhile longer.
Hmmm.... what else happened this week.... Well, officially I´ve been in Chile for one month! Woot! It doesn´t seem like it at all, time is rather weird on the mission in case I haven´t mentioned that before. So, how is everyone doing at home? I hope all is well with everyone, whether it is with work, school, or just life!
This next week might be a little bit interesting... we might have intercambios with the youth here, every missionary might be with a youth for 3 days O.o I´m kinda hoping we don´t do this, our house is so small even with 4 missionaries.... we have like the worst house in the mission, that´s what I think anyways!
I´m starting to understand a little more of what people say everyday, good thing I´m a pretty patient person! These next few months or however long it takes to get spanish down will always be very hard, but I know with faith and working hard every day, I will learn! I´m doing my best everyday, you can count on that! Besides that, not much has been happening this week. Just work work, and more work! I get home everyday very tired! I suppose that´s a good thing! I just wish there was more time to sleep! But somehow I make it through everyday! It will be a lot easier once I get spanish down, but I´m enjoying every moment of learning. I know I´ll learn spanish, but it will be a process, as with learning anything! So I just keep my head up and know I´ll make it!

Hello Everyone!
So I´ve been in Chile for a month now! Crazy!!!! Time is flying by already, before I know it, It will be Christmas! Things are going great here.
This past week has been a very difficult week for me. I got sick halfway through the week and one day I couldn´t work at all because I felt so sick. I had a fever, my stomach wasn´t doing well, but don´t worry, I´m okay now.
Happy Halloween again! Hahaha. On Halloween we had a big mission conference where all the missionaries from our mission met in custom tshirts and we had competitions and played soccer and had relay races and stuff. It was fun!
We´ve met some really cool people prosyliting and working. And in fact, I had my first Baptism this last Saturday! It was awesome and I didn´t mess up or anything! Most of all, I´m glad I had the opportunity to help one of God´s children get on the path to Eternal Life. She is an 11 year old girl, Rocio. Before I baptized her she told me not to hold her under the water too long. I don´t blame her, the water was gross and greenish because the pipes had rust in them or something, but all went well!
Guess what else finally happened here for me? I had a completo! And guess what?!?!?! They really are only one dollar! That´s right! $1 only! So if I wanted two it would only be $2! Haha.
Oh Chile, it´s filled with so many experiences. Aside from being really sick and having a baptizm, My companion and I also destroyed a house for service one day! It was super fun! We have 4 more baptizm dates set, so the work is really moving along, and hopefully it will continue to get better.
I love you all so much. Yes, I have recieved letters from you Mom and meh family, but I haven´t been able to send you all a letter yet, so be patient! I love you all so much! Oh, and Caralyn? I forgot to tell you.... Happy Our Hope Day on the 25th of October! I love you so much!
Anyways, things are great here, this next week we get to hear from a general authority.... who knows who it could be!? It could even be one of the big 3! So I´m pretty excited! I love you all so much! Take care always!

Hey there everyone!!!!
Yet another week down in the mission! Chile is such an interesting place. It´s been pretty cold here everyday, and very windy all the time! I´m doing my best everyday though! I won´t let a little bit of cold get me down!
We´ve been having a lot of success finding people in our area, the Lord really does prepare people to listen to the message of the Gospel. It´s amazing how many people we have contacted that want to listen to our message! I can only pray and hope that all will work out with our new investigators.
Like always, spanish is very hard, but slowly I´m getting better at it! I´ll be okay, it will just take time to develop like anything else! I do alright with gospel words and such since that is what I learned in the MTC, but when it comes to real life stuff, I´m having to start from scratch. The people are so nice here, most of the time. People of other faiths want nothing to do with us or just pester us. Oh well! My purpose as a missionary is only to invite those who want to hear to the gospel. I´m doing my best every day!
I love the food here, but definitely miss food from home too. I still haven´t had a completo though! Hahaha, maybe soon! Anyways, nothing too exciting and out of the ordinary happened this week, just a lot of contacting. I love you all so much! Take care always! I hoe you are all well! I love you too so much Caralyn!

Like always, spanish is very hard, but slowly I´m getting better at it! I´ll be okay, it will just take time to develop like anything else! I do alright with gospel words and such since that is what I learned in the MTC, but when it comes to real life stuff, I´m having to start from scratch. The people are so nice here, most of the time. People of other faiths want nothing to do with us or just pester us. Oh well! My purpose as a missionary is only to invite those who want to hear to the gospel. I´m doing my best every day!
I love the food here, but definitely miss food from home too. I still haven´t had a completo though! Hahaha, maybe soon! Anyways, nothing too exciting and out of the ordinary happened this week, just a lot of contacting. I love you all so much! Take care always! I hoe you are all well! I love you too so much Caralyn!

Woah! One week down in Chile!
Haha, and quite the experience it has been. My mind is in a blur at the moment, it´s a little wierd hearing nothing but spanish for hours and hours and hours and hours... did I mention hours? Haha.
My trainer/companion is great, his name is Elder Lusk. He is from Northern Utah/Idaho. He´s been out on his mission for about a year! So far about 6 of the 7 days I´ve been here it has rained. No, I don´t have culture shock, it´s more like... why is everyone speaking Spanish?!?! haha. I definitely have a long way to go before I can communicate comfortably.... it doesn´t help that I´m shy in the first place. Oh well, it´s going well!
My Mission President is great, he speaks only Spanish, so my interview with him was interesting! He fed all of us new missionaries lunch at his house on Tuesday.
Lunch is the big meal here in Chile, not Dinner. So far the food has been great (With one exception...), the people are so nice and so much fun! And they talk really fast 0.o Haha. The members are so kind and usually feed us lunch. It´s weird having a big piece of corn or a big chunk of meat floating in the middle of a bowl of soup... but so tasty! They love mayonaise here.... on pretty much anything. Also, they love Yogurt!
I´m loving the people and the place where I live. My first area is in a city called Talcahaun(a/o) but more specifically in a place called Esmeralda. It´s really different seeing fences with barbed wire and spikes around every house. But for a good reason here, I pretty much live in the ghetto! Dirt streets, crazy music, stray dogs everywhere. It´s so much fun!
We have done a lot of trackting, we rarely knock doors.... rather we yell doors! We say "Alo!" and people come to their doors to answer it. In a more ritzy part in our area we knock doors. There are a lot of people walking around, so we have an opportunity to do a lot of street contacts. We entered a home of a great family, and the little girls laughed at my spanish the whole time... haha. I have a long way to go with my Spanish. I felt good about it in the MTC, but here is so crazy! I can understand a lot of what is said, but I don´t know how to respond. But I´ve bought my own groceries and such! Woot! We live in a very small house, it´s fun but freezing in the morning. It´s a very humbling experience, but I´m so glad to be out of the MTC. I love the food here, especcially the Pan! (bread) Mmmm, so good! I have yet to have my first Completo though! Haha. I´m excited, apparently they are really really good! But they cost more than one dollar.
It turns out that the city "Concepcion" is not an area in our mission, but that is where our mission office is. I went to the city today and it was big! Imagine that! :P So far it´s been so great! I love it here, I miss home and all of you, but I´m happy I have this experience to learn and grow and to bring the gospel to the people in Chile.
So I have 2 fun stories to tell. The first is that on my second day it was pouring, we were walking home and a car drove really fast through a puddle and I got soaked!!!!! Was I mad? Nope! I love the water! Haha, so no worries with rain here for me!
Secondly, we met a really nice old lady in the street. We went to her house and talked with her for a bit and she offered us some milk. It´s very impolite not to eat everything they give you, so we took it and took a sip.... YUCKY!!! It was so warm, rancid and sour T.T I did not want to drink it at all. So my companion "had to use the bathroom" and asked the nice old lady to show him where it was. While she helped him I tossed both of our drinks down the drain.... That milk was so nasty. I´m surprised I´m not dead! Haha.
Well, I love you all and I miss you all so much! I hope you are all good and safe! Take care of Caralyn for me! Take care my family! Until next week! Oh, and also I can still get dear elders here, you just need to send them to the mission home... but please send hand written letters! I love those most of all! I get mail once a week, so sorry!

Hey everyone!
This is my last P-day in America! Woah.... I'm not sure how to view that yet... In just 3 days from now I'll be in Chile. My mind is going to explode when I get there. So, much, Spanish O.o Well, only one way to get used to it... to go!
Yesterday we had our in-field orientation here. It was a bunch of workshops of maybe what to expect in the missionfield, different ways that we could contact people, etc, etc, etc. It was nice, but I don't really think it's going to be anything like they said. I really have no idea what the mission field, let alone Chile is going to be like! It's going to be quite a learning experience, I already know that. And I'm sure the first few weeks are going to be incredibly hard. I'm excited for the adventure though. I'm excited to bring the gospel to those who are willing and ready to accept it. I'll do my best everyday!
This week I also hosted new missionaries. I was the missionary who stood at the curb and welcomed the new missionary and took him to his room and then his classroom. Fun stuff, right? It was pouring that day! I had a blast!
Well, Not much else is going on, I just need to pack up my things today and get ready to go! I'm going to miss you all, I'm going to miss America I'm sure. But I will love Chile. Thanks for all of your love and support everyone! I love you Caralyn! Thanks for always being there with me! ^_^ You're beautiful! Thanks for all your love and support my family and friends! The next time you hear from me I'll be in Chile!

Hey everyone!
How has it been going?! I hope you are all well and fantastic! Well, Only 6 more days until I'm in Chile! O.o Crazy to think about, but I'm very excited. This past week seemed to fly, and I only hope that this week goes even faster so I can get to Chile! It's going to be weird not to hear much English when I get there, and my mind will probably explode from how fast Chilenos supposedly speak, but I'm excited. I know I'll be a little greeny who can barely communicate effectively, but I'm excited! ^_^ I'm so ready to get out of the MTC and get to Chile! It's been a great experience to be here, but I'm ready for real food, real teaching experiences, and being able to go somewhere a little bit different everyday!
So how was conference for everyone? I hope you were all able to watch the entire conference, and if not, at least a portion! I learned so much and it was a great opportunity to hear from our prophet and the apostles and other general authorities. My favourite talk was by President Uchtdorf during the Saturday Morning Session. He talked a lot about the universe, how small we are, and related it to one of my favourite parts in the Book of Mormon; King Benjamins Sermon. It's true that we are nothing, but to God we are everything. I get a great feeling that although in the Universe we are so stinking small, that to God we are his greatest creations and that he loves each and everyone one of us! We all have a purpose in his plan. I hope you were all able to get something out of Conference! I also found out that Prophets don't change thier ties between sessions! Haha, anything to stay awake, right? :P Nah, I didn't struggle with that at all!
Well, with one week left, I need to kick it into super high gear and learn as much more as I can! I'll be in Chile before I know it! I recieved my travel plans and I'll take a plane from Salt Lake City to L.A.. Then I will have about a 17 hour flight from L.A. to Santiago, Chile. Then I'll have one more flight from Santiago to Concepcion! It's almost here! ^_^
Mom, I also got a hair cut today... T,T I don't think it has been this short since I was about 8 years old! O.o No me gusta! Luckily my hair grows pretty fast, so soon enough I'll have it to a comfortable length. Haha. I'll take pictures for sure. I hope all is well at home.
It's definitely Fall time up here in Provo, I love the colors of the leaves.... sadly when I get to Chile it will be Spring/Summer time. So I'll miss out on my favourite seasons! Oh well, they will come in Chile!

Hey there everyone!
Today has been a very trying week, I've felt a bit homesick I suppose, and I miss Caralyn quite a bit! I love you Babe! I always will! I know things will be fine though, I have lots and lots of faith!
So we had yet another General Authority... woah! 3 Apostles! This time is was Russell M. Neilson. He taught about the Book of Mormon and kinda like the history behind it. It was great!
So far I've heard nothing about an MTC general conference choir, so I doubt that will happen. I'm excited to get out the MTC though, 2 more weeks is all! Hooray! I definitely need to know more spanish, but I know things will work out. If I trust in the Lord and do all I can, things will work out.
I hope all is well at home. Things are going great here, just studying and the norm. I don't think we have to move into a new building, so that's great! The next time I pack my bags it will be so I can get on a plane to Chile! Everyday is another day closer to returning home, but I'm trying to make the most out of everyday I'm here serving. It's great being able to have practice teachings here, but I'm excited to teach real people and feel like I'm actually accomplishing something. However, I still get excited when our fake investigators say they will be baptized and when they pray about the Book of Mormon! It's quite a great experience!

Hey everyone!
Another week down, 3 more to go here in the MTC! Woot! Just the norm, study, study, eat, sleep, study, then P-day... more studying later!
Things are going well, this week we had to move into another building again... so I've had to repack all my stuff twice now in the MTC. Hopefully it is a permanent move until we leave the MTC. It's amazing how many Elders and Hermanas there are here in the MTC, but it is still all organized and stuff! The Lord does indeed provide a way in all things in his work!
This past tuesday (not today) we heard from another Apostle! M. Russel Ballard! Apparently it is really rare to hear from one apostle here... let alone two! Crazy stuff! I love the devotionals and the firesides every week.
It rained a lot this past week, but it's been nice to have cool weather. I have a little bit of a cough right now, but nothing to worry about, I'm doing fine! ^_^
I'm so excited to get to Chile and teach the gospel! Our teachers seem so excited about the work and when they served in Chile. All thier stories excite me! And I'm really ready for real food! Haha, this food here is just fine, but none of it really agrees with my insides.... yucky! But I'm doing well! Cereal is always a good meal choice!
I hope everyone is doing well back at home! Keep your spirits up and if the rains start coming down, just learn to walk in the rain! ^_^ Take care everyone! I miss you and love you all!

Hey there! Another week down, and this past week marks the half way point in the MTC! Woot! I'm excited to get out of here and to get to Chile! Not much new has been happening around here, just the normal going to classes for hours, studying the scriptures and spanish, and waking up early! Time seems to be flying as usual, but that's no problem at all! I'm glad to hear from some of you and to hear that you are having adventures and staying safe!
Never forget that this gospel is what brings us true happiness in this life! I don't know if any of you were able to see the "Music and the Spoken Word" from this last Sunday (9/11), but if you have the chance, I highly suggest it! It was super good and on Sunday night the MTC watched that program for our devotional. I'm glad I was able to see it! Never forget what is really important to you!

Hey there everyone, Friends, Family, and everyone else who may be reading this (you know who you are :P),
Things are going great here at the MTC! As you may recall, last week my jaw and tongue were quite injured from eating and soccer, but not to worry, a few days ago I woke up feeling just fine! Nothing has changed much with my companions, just more going to the Hospital and such for them! Haha, they need to cool it down with getting sick and not feeling well! ^_^ Looks like I'm the only one who knows how to stay healthy around here! haha.
So, yesterday night and this morning, our entire district had to move from our normal housing building, into a different building on the campus here. We had to move because apparently our old building is being renovated, so now we are in a smaller room! Good thing there are only 3 of us that have to share instead of four!
My spanish is coming along great... I think! haha. There is just so much to memorize and such! But I feel more confident in what I'm saying! I've taken a challenge to read the Book of Mormon... or rather El Libro de Mormon outloud all the way through! So far in two weeks, yesterday I finally finished 1 Nephi! I was so happy! It takes forever to read! One of my teachers promised that if we read the entire Libro de Mormon outloud, we will be able to speak spanish fluently! So I'm taking that challenge! ^_^
Last week during our Tuesday Night Fireside/Devotional, our speaker was Elder Holland! It was amazing! I've never been in the same room with an Apostle that I can think of, so it was quite an experience!

Hola mi familia y amigos!
Things seem to be speeding up a little bit more each day here! The past few days have been a little tough here because I bit my tounge and got nailed in the jaw pretty hard playing soccer earlier this week. It's safe to say that eating, drinking beverages, and even talking has been a challenge, but things have been getting better.
All the teachers here are so good at spanish! It's amazing to think how much Spanish I've learned in the short 3 weeks I've been here at the MTC so far, but it's crazy to think about how much more I will need to learn before I can communicate clearly and with power! I know I'll get the language down sometime though! My brain seems like it's always overloaded, but thats expected when for hours and hours I'm learning more about the gospel, memorizing spanish words, planning for investigators, etc. It's always a great experience to teach our "investigators". Even though they are just our teachers, they all have thier own investigator they play as and we have to teach them! It's amazing how the doctrine is always the same, but you always have to teach it a little bit differently so people can understand it.
It's difficult being in a Trio companionship, it seems like 2 of us are waiting on the other one. No, I'm definitely not the slow one in the group. Elder Humpherys has spent a lot of this past week in hospitals and such so he could be tested for Hypoglycimia (however that is spelled... But basically low blood sugar).
I think so far everything is fine. I feel like how I'm speaking spanish right now is how little toddlers speak! It's not the most pretty spanish, but I can get the basics of what I want to say out.
It's nice on P-days to go to the temple and do temple work! I love the peacefullness in temples and that I can help those who have been waiting for years and years to get thier work done!
Two of the Elders in our district today, Elder Hales and Elder Kinghorn, leave today for the Gautemala MTC. It's going to be weird without them here... but they get to go! I'm excited for when I get to leave for Chile! Everyday I get a little bit closer and I'm looking forward to it so much! I hope all is well at home!

My brain seems like it's always overloaded, but thats expected when for hours and hours I'm learning more about the gospel, memorizing spanish words, planning for investigators, etc. It's always a great experience to teach our "investigators". Even though they are just our teachers, they all have thier own investigator they play as and we have to teach them! It's amazing how the doctrine is always the same, but you always have to teach it a little bit differently so people can understand it.
It's difficult being in a Trio companionship, it seems like 2 of us are waiting on the other one. No, I'm definitely not the slow one in the group. Elder Humpherys has spent a lot of this past week in hospitals and such so he could be tested for Hypoglycimia (however that is spelled... But basically low blood sugar).
I think so far everything is fine. I feel like how I'm speaking spanish right now is how little toddlers speak! It's not the most pretty spanish, but I can get the basics of what I want to say out.
It's nice on P-days to go to the temple and do temple work! I love the peacefullness in temples and that I can help those who have been waiting for years and years to get thier work done!
Two of the Elders in our district today, Elder Hales and Elder Kinghorn, leave today for the Gautemala MTC. It's going to be weird without them here... but they get to go! I'm excited for when I get to leave for Chile! Everyday I get a little bit closer and I'm looking forward to it so much! I hope all is well at home!

August 23, 2011, 2nd week in the MTC (Mission Training Company)
Hello everyone! Another week down! This week has gone by so fast! It seems like just yesterday was my first P-day! ^_^ P-day's are like Christmas I've decided! Laundry, E-mail, lots of personal study time, and the temple! ^_^ Mom, just so you know, my P-days are on Tuesdays in the MTC. So keep that in mind! I've been learning a lot of Spanish, and there is so much I have yet to learn! Nothing is really different along the lines of my schedule here... just a lot of early mornings, not too tasty meals, and hours of spanish and gospel classes. It's good for me and everyone else here, we have a lot to learn before we go to our Missions! I'm looking forward to going to Chile though! Last night our teacher Hermana Billin showed us a slide show from her mission in Conception North, Chile. It looks like so much fun! I can't wait to teach people the gospel! This week both of my Companions had to see the Medical Staff here. Elder Humpherys has passed out twice, luckily we've caught him, and Elder Kuhn threw up yesterday morning. So a lot of the morning and afternoon yesterday was spent sitting in a waiting room while they both got checked out. Quite boring if I do say so! There is a lot of roleplaying here at the MTC so we can kinda get a feel for how to teach. It's pretty hard in Spanish! There is so much to learn! I know I'll pick up on it eventually! I love gym time here... I wish it was a little longer though. Mostly I play soccer or beach volleyball! It's quite fun and a good way to get some time to stand up and run around! I love you and I miss you all! It's hard to believe that 2 months of my mission will be spent in the MTC... but I'm looking forward to Chile for sure! Take care everyone! ^_^
August 16, 2011 1st week in the MTC (Mission Training Company)
Hey there everyone! Almost one week down! Woot! It's been an exciting and eventful week... I feel like I've been here for months and months in the MTC already though! Oh well, I'm learning a lot though! It's humbling to know how much spanish I've learned in this first week, but also to realize I'm not even close to understanding the language well enough to speak it fluently! I have two companions, Elder Humpherys and Elder Kuhn, they are really nice Elders! (Not allowed to say guys... haha) I miss you all so much! I hope all is well at home! Days feel like weeks here in the MTC, but now it feels like time is going by faster than I remember. Time is just messed up in this place! Oh well, this is the lord's time and I'm glad I can be here to serve with all my heart! I've been learning so much, and it's taking a toll on my body. I don't think I'm used to getting this much sleep though. Is getting the normal amount of sleep you need really that bad? I guess I still need to adjust to early mornings and early bed time! It's not too bad though. Gym time and this first P-day has been a welcome time for me. I really need a time to relax a little bit and to run off some of my stresses and to let all I'm learning sink in. It was quite an experience my first day in the MTC... our first spanish class our teacher, Sister Billin, spoke zero English to us for 2 hours straight. T.T I understood a little bit of what she was saying, but for the most part I was clueless. I'm picking up on it more and more though! So, Keeley and Karley are back in school? Fun stuff for them! I feel like I'm in school every day! I'm rather excited for later today because I will get to go to the temple! I love the temple! It gets pretty hot up here having to wear sunday clothes all day, but it would be a lot worse if the MTC were in St. George... ugh, that would be terrible. So I am quite thankful now! ^_^ Tonight is a devotional, so hopefully a general authority will come speak tonight! We'll see! Yesterday I had a temporary companion, Elder Smith. His district all left yesterday to Argentina, his visa didn't come yet, so he left this morning to serve temporarily in Alabama. I have to go soon, so I just wanted to bear my testimony! I know this church is true, I know that Jesus Christ is our savior and he died for us. I know that the only way we can return to him is through having faith in him and relying on his Atonement. I love you all and miss you so much! I look forward to the day I see you all again! Take care everyone! Bye!
